East Winds Resort History
The original owners of East Winds were Richard & Margaret Egerer about 50 years ago. Margaret was a botanist who loved the many rainforest plants on the property and gradually tamed them into garden. With her talent for grafting fruit trees and nurturing difficult-to-cultivate plants, Margaret took the first step towards the development of the beautiful garden as it is now.

East Winds Garden
Guava - is a tropical fruit cultivated in many tropical regions, commonly eaten fresh or made into beverages, jams, and other foods. Various parts of the plant, including the leaf and the fruit, are used as medicine.
People use guava leaf for stomach and intestinal conditions, pain, diabetes, and wound healing. The fruit is used for high blood pressure. But there is no good scientific evidence to support any uses of guava.
The guava fruit is a source of vitamin C, fiber, and other substances that act like antioxidants. The outer skin may be rough, often with a bitter taste, or soft and sweet. Varying between species, the skin can be any thickness, is usually green before maturity, but may be yellow, maroon, or green when ripe.
