East Winds Resort History

The original owners of East Winds were Richard & Margaret Egerer about 50 years ago. Margaret was a botanist who loved the many rainforest plants on the property and gradually tamed them into garden. With her talent for grafting fruit trees and nurturing difficult-to-cultivate plants, Margaret took the first step towards the development of the beautiful garden as it is now.

We avoid using any harsh chemicals on your skin, preferring instead to focus on natural organic treatments using ingredients from the environment around us to relax, rejuvenate and energize you.

East Winds Garden

Golden Apple - An edible fruit growing on large trees up to 30m. The fruits have thick, sometimes leathery skin and fibrous or hairy seeds. While unripe, the flesh is crisp and firm with a tart acidic taste. As it ripens, it turns yellow, becomes soft and develops a sweet taste and fragrant smell. Both ripe and unripe fruits can be eaten raw. It is also often prepared by juicing, stewing with ginger and sugar, pickling with peppers and spices, or eaten raw.
